Something to check

Is there any chance your users are pasting 'text' into your dialog box that comes from something like Word or Outlook? We've had a variety of interesting problems with this type of paste because, even in text fields, it brings in all kinds of invisible characters that can play havoc with the apps ability to deal with text (our export to Excel routines just hate this kind of pasted data).

If they are pasting in from some other rich text source, see what happens if you have them paste content into Notepad (not Wordpad), then copy/paste that into Notes.
